closed
  • start: Different starting points
  • destination: Different points of arrival

The tour starts in Biel in Goms. Head up to the high-altitude trail, the Goms Höhenweg, and on past Bellwald to the Aspi-Titter suspension bridge. After crossing the bridge, make the steep climb towards Märjelenwang. Arriving in the Märjelen valley, continue past Lake Märjelensee and up onto Eggishorn, where you have a glorious view out across the Great Aletsch Glacier. If you prefer, you can choose the more leisurely Panorama Trail instead. The UNESCO high-altitude trail then takes you to Bettmerhorn and the Moosfluh view point. Next, hike down to Bettmeralp and continue towards Alpmatten and Martisberg to the Sport Resort (holiday village) in Fiesch. There you cross the Rhone and pass Ernen and Mühlebach, before crossing back to the other side of the river over the Goms Bridge. The trail then takes you uphill to the St. Anna Chapel, after which you head in the direction of Niederwald, crossing the Rhone again before Blitzingen and following the forest trail, the Gommer Waldweg, to Reckingen. Once there, you hike back to the starting point in Biel.
