The 124 m long suspension bridge is one of the hiking highlights in the Aletsch region. At a height of 80 m, it leads across the Massa Gorge directly in front of the glacier gate of the Great Aletsch Glacier and thus connects Belalp with Riederalp. The profound view into the Massa Gorge guarantees thrills and is an impressive experience.
While it used to be possible to reach Riederalp from Belalp via the Aletsch Glacier, this is no longer possible today due to the receding glacier. The suspension bridge built in 2008 restores this old connection; all in cooperation with Pro Natura, the WWF and the UNESCO World Heritage Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch.
